In recent years XtremeGeo has had a number of requests for software that can handle much larger surveys.
For a variety of reasons it was decided that modifying Flatirons to achieve this was impractical, and so Phoenix was created to handle these requests.
Phoenix is well-integrated with Flatirons. It is expected that for the foreseeable future most of our customers will continue to perform geometry QC and first break picking within Flatirons, and then when needed the Flatirons projects will be merged in Phoenix to perform, for example, VNS tomography inversions on MPI clusters
New Tomography algorithm
- Phoenix includes the industry standard VNS algorithm
- Phoenix also includes AANS (auto adaptive node spacing) tomography
- This new approach tends to delineate refractor boundaries better than VNS
Phoenix includes a very simple, flexible framework for constraining tomographic inversions with additional data, including
- Uphole Surveys
- FTG Data
- Delay Time Models
- Etc.
Improved Window Layout
Phoenix makes it easier to take advantage of multiple monitors
Each window may be opened in the main tabbed display or in a stand-alone window
Huge Sparse Surveys
Phoenix can handle a merged survey consisting of hundreds of 2D lines
